"My grandfather bought his 16' Meyers Lake Fisherman and Johnson 25hp motor from John in 1977. He passed it to my dad in 1984, who actuall drove to Michigan to pick it up. Now it's mine and will someday belong to my son, which will be the 4th generation, and still the farthest "west" Meyers boat ever.
I had to replace the steering cable, which had come off, and after finding the original receipt of purchase, I searched the internet and found that Bay Outboard Marine was still in business. I contacted customer service through email and Kevin put me in contact with Jack who gave me all the info I needed to replace and adjust the cable. What a pleasure to deal with such friendly, knowledgeable people. It made me want to be in Saginaw so I could deal with them in person. It's nice to know people like that are still around, and I hope they are for a very long time.
